I think it is time to remind everybody that NO_ONE has ever claimed that humans are responsible for global warning. AGW is a contributing factor to climate change, and science solidly and incontrovertibly proves that. I stopped to realize the other day that while almost every other human enterprise has advanced in leaps and bounds over the past 100 years, for some inexplicable reason we are still burning oil and spewing effluvium into the atmosphere to generate power. Why?

re: #1 imp_62

Obviously meant to state "solely responsible for global warming". Should not come across as though I am denying AGW.

Isn't all science "junk science" to Santorum? He's obviously not any kind of expert in the area.

Humans are probably, directly or indirectly, almost entirely responsible.

And why haven't we advanced beyond fossil fuels? At first, because there was no real incentive to change. And now... It couldn't have anything to do with the obscene profits enjoyed by those who control access to those fuels in one way or another, and their increasing ability to affect national political discourse and indeed to shape world politics, could it?

And "Santorum" is junk... well, I don't need to elucidate any further.

Santorum displays perfectly irrational junk thinking.

What I don't get is that even if humans aren't responsible (and believe me, I think we are), the results will be equally ugly. Shouldn't we be trying to solve the problem anyway? Deniers rarely want to invest in research into solutions or mitigation.
We build dams and levees, engineer what we hope are earthquake-safe buildings, etc. These things all cost money, but we do them anyway. Climate change, not so much.

Rick is just a pile of bad thoughts and stupid premises.

JUNEAU — Alaska’s new election system — with open primaries and ranked voting — has been a model for those in other states who are frustrated by political polarization and a sense that voters lack real choice at the ...
